The first recorded data about a dwelling built at Pikk 71 date back to 1362. Since that time, many important citizens, such as guild elders, aldermen and mayors, have lived in the houses situated on this spot. During the reconstruction and restoration works, the three similar medieval dwelling houses next to each other, known as Kolm Õde (the Three Sisters) were turned into one of the most imposing hotels in Tallinn.
